You have to harvest a doe before you can harvest a buck. I had heard somewhere that Indiana was goin to adopt this law to lower the herd numbers. I haven't been able to find anything on it but I don't want to find out the hard way if the deer I take is a buck.

The Natural Resources Commission will be voting on the changes September 20th and we'll post the results as soon as we find out anything. "Earn a buck" is part of the rule changes, but only for the urban hunts.

I'm not totally opposed to the idea myself. I usually try to take a doe or two. The problem is that i normally wait until late season to shoot a doe because I process myself and want to be able to hang it. This would essentially force me to shoot one early. Of course I don't take part in the urban hunts anyway.
