The Shakamak Halloween Festival is October 21st & 22nd this year. Site decorating, trick or treating, games, snacks, face painting, haunted house, pumpkin rolling, sack and spoon races, hayride, storytime, costume contest. We'll be camping Thur-Sun at site 55 if anyone wants to stop by.  I'll have my 5 gallon pot filled with either beans or chili, heck, might do both. Should be some good fishing that time of year too. Just showed my girl friend & kids,Alize b-day is the 22 & we all thinking on just having her b-day their while camping. Where do i get more info on this event  Do the camp site's ever get full |

Where do i get more info on this event Do the camp site's ever get full Your kids would have a blast! Lots of stuff for the young'uns the whole time. They get free pumpkins to carve on Friday. Here's the parks number; 812-665-2158, but I think they only take reservations online. indianastateparks.reserveamerica.com/Upcoming Special EventsIn September: 8th Annual Shakamak State Park Pow Wow Sullivan County American Indian Council, Inc. Open to the Public, at the Group Camp Mess Hall Native American Entertainment, Artisans, Crafts, Flute Players, Cultural Diversity. In October: Fall Festival Pumpkin carving in the campground on Friday evening. Then, on Saturday, we will have: Haunted egg hunt, scavenger hunt, games, face painting and crafts at the Nature Center. Haunted Pool House. Scary campsite decorating contest, costume contest for kids and trick or treating. |

Chili will be ready Saturday early evening. Here's a pic of Monty's site....   Not really. I checked out our sites and they're dry. Somebody will have a wet surprise waiting for them though!!  |
