Well yesterday i was out scouting for turkey for something to do and found a big tom and a hen so i decided i would go back today and try to get him. Well i got there late and went past to see if they were out and they were then i put the binos on them and noticed there were nothing but males out there. Two toms and a jake. but i went ahead and parked and went into the woods behind them and walked up behind them. I was getting ready to set up the blind when i realized yesterday they didnt feed back into here . The rest of the property was going to be too thick for me to get through before they got there so i decided to just try to walk up and blast one if i could. Well i snuck up to a tree i remembered to head to to get to them and look out and there they are. Then i realized there was a head pointing right at me. It happened to be the closest and biggest bird of the bunch. The bird thinks im a tree or something and starts to feed toward my only opening so i throw up my gun and get ready. Asecond later it was in my lane and i clucked at it to stop it. Boom. 50 yard shot and he didnt move his wings more than 4 times. The entire length of the hunt was spent walking to the field. About 10 minutes. He was 23# 17mm spurs and a 10.75 in beard. Not a bad bird.

Congrats!! That's tough sneaking up on them in a field. I've tried it before with no luck. Seeing your bird makes me wish I would have stuck with it longer today!
