This warm weather is getting them fired up. I just hope they're not done by the time season comes in.

I would prefer done to henned up myself. Seems like that has been what we have been running into the last few years. It's hard to have enough patience to hunt those henned up toms. At least when the majority of hens are on the nest you can get a tom ,that hasn't had his fill, interested.

i hear ya troy i dislike the rule change from the 21st to the 27th I don't think there' been a rule change, it's just the way it fell this year. I think the way Indiana has it set up is to start on Wednesday of the last full week in April. So the 27th is the latest it could ever be.

We spent the last couple nights over by Brookville Lake and here's a struttin' tom that Booey snapped a pic of Monday evening. He got a little video too. This tom had about a dozen hens around him.

There will be plenty for us all, I agree with Jonboy. Every year I fight henned up birds until the last couple days of season then it all comes together. So hopefully with the late start they won't be as henned up.

today I was scouting out some of the property and jumped a hen. Went and investigated she was in a brush pile, possibly nesting but also could of just been an afternoon nap.
