I need you coyote experts to solve a mystery for me. I was outside doing some work around the place when I heard and seen something I thought was odd. I heard what sounded sort of like a beagle pup running, high pitched bark/squeal. Then I seen a coyote running across my neighbors hay field followed by another coyote a little ways behind. The second one was where the barking was coming from. I lost sight of them but could still here the chase. It came my way then turned toward the south. The barking stopped then I heard a loud fighting sound that didn't last but a second or two. Everything got quiet after that. I know their breeding season is around this time of year. Just wandering if that isn't what I witnessed. Anyone know?

Might have been a male running off the competition.
