went out to a stand over a witner wheat and volunteer sorgum field, the ice over the snow was so loud that on the way in i kicked up one deer, followed by a bedded down doe right by my stand, it was a little over 30 min. till light and the one bedded down stayed in the field 30 yds away from me, waited on it till light and i guess it saw me but couldn't tell what i was cuz it blew at me 31 times ???right before light it walked into the woods, i knew it was still there and there were 2 more off to my left that i could hear through the snow/ice and catch glances of. every time that deer tried to leave the field during the dark i would make a fake snort/wheeze/ blow thing and it would keep it in the field. finaly left, but eventually after 20 min. it appeared again (i knew it was there the whole time because of all the racket it made. it was a big, pot bellied doe and was getting nice and poofy for the winter. it had me pinned so i took about 4 minutes getting the gun up, finally did and 25yds, right one the shoulder cuz it was quartering towards me, slowly squeezed the trigger and...click, it misfired. got home and it shot fine so i guess it was a bad cap.

Ya this snow-ice makes it impossible to stock hunt or sneak in and out. It sucks.
