Is any one else having a bad year? I have been at it since October 15th and only had 3 deer come in to bow range, since I have not been able to hunt with a gun. Last week, (Over Thanksgiving) I had the oppurtunity to go to my Uncle's place in Illinois. saw the three biggest bucks of my life, all of them hanging out around 60-70 yards, I saw one each of the three days I was there. I have also been hunting in my woods. I have seen only a few deer, and today I saw a nice nice Alabama buck. I am a left-handed shooter, and this buck shows up out of no where to my left. This deer was no more than 25 yards away. being left-handed, it was physically impossible for me to take a shot directly to my left sitting down. This deer knew I was there, and never got his eyes off of me and stuck his nose up in the air a million times trying to get a whiff of me. The one time he turns his head away, I tryed to stand to get a shot. He bolted, and that was that. He was an old 8-point, probably 200 pounds (Which is HUGE for Alabama) spread was out past his ears, and his G2's and G3"s were pretty dern tall. I have had buck fever all season, but it is so bad right now I think I need to be checked into a hospital.
Just another night at work for me and Monty will be back here again bright and early.
