Stopped there on the way back from Gander Mountain for a couple hours, and caught something around a dozen or so crappies, plus a few bluegills too. Nothing that was real big, but at least they were big enough to be good fun to catch! Released 'em all so they could work on increasing their size for next spring! Caught most of them on this little jig called a "leachette" under a float. With the wind putting a good chop on the water, I'm sure this thing looked pretty lively under water! Fun to catch about anything on ultra-light, but probably the biggest thrill is just seeing that bobber go down!

I'm wondering why those little jigs wouldn't work under the ice. What do ya think?

I'm wondering why those little jigs wouldn't work under the ice. What do ya think? Haven't tried them that way myself, but I do think they would work great through the ice.
