Acorns are crazy this year where I hunt. The best deer hunting plan for me right now is to find a tree with a bunch of acorns around it and hang a tree stand on it. I have never seen so many acorns in my life.

Well make sure that deer are actually coming to that tree. Put up a camera if you have one, look for trails heading to it, tracks, dirt dug up digging for acorns, because most of the time the deer have just about ate every acorn before it hits the ground.

you probably don't want the tree stand in the actual oak tree. probably in a tree on a trail leading to the acorns.

Same goes for around here with the acorns. You almost need a hard hat if you are hunting near oaks. This is the most mast I have seen in a long time if not ever. Could mean a hard winter.

I found a good white oak tree today after school. Deer have been digging in the leaves all around it and found 3 good rubs. All of them at the most 20 yards away from the tree. I didnt have any tree stands left to hang, so I set up a ground blind. Hopefully I will get a shot at a good one:)

The ground around every oak where I hunt looks like someone tilled it with a roto-tiller. With all the crops being down, this is the hardest I've ever seen oaks get used.
