Not to bag on you, but I doubt they were made for shooting through plywood, especialy at 230 FPS. You should shoot at a piece of leather or something similar and see what it does.

DO NOT go too high and try to impress anyone. just go with what your comfortably with. I am going to try some GRIM REAPERS this year, but some 4 bladed Muzzy's will do the trick if your needin a good broad head.

I really don't think plywood is a good substitute for bone. A piece of poplar that is the same thickness as the bone has the same breaking point as the bone would have. Plywood is a lot harder than poplar is.

I shot the rage broad head for one year and even killed a deer with one and was not impressed with there accuracy had a lot of drop. It did how ever make a big hole in the deer that did not run very far. But I was at the local archery shop an someone told me that those rage broad heads don't open every time,so I put them to the test. I put a piece of card board in front of the target and shot threw the car board into my target and they did not open all the way like they are so pose to,sometimes they did sometimes they didn't. So now I shoot the Montec fixed broad head an are very happy. If your looking for good penetration on a piece of ply wood try using a gun.

the expandable boradheads ruin your penetration and they dont always expand. i know a guy who shot a deeer with an exandible and it didnt open. ha! im with chase though, nap thunderheads are a deadly broadhead

What i was goin for was that it wouldn't penetrate bone, and people have way to much confidence in them. and anthony my poundage is at 50 and i know i can pull 60 but not repetative times, but im waiting till after season to get it turned up because i'm not sure what it'll be like during late season.

Only problem with the BloodRunners Frency is they break in all the tests and also take a lot of pressure to open fully, so they will open on impact and exit but not so much in between. I am surprised that Rage withstood that plywood, most plywood tests with em shatter the blades. I personally am not a mechanical fan, I want something that will work 100% of the time and is strong.
All this talk online and in magazines about fixed blades not flying at high speeds is to get you to buy the usually more expensive expandables. A properly tuned bow will throw a good fixed blade to the same point as a field point with as much accuracy. Look up "Broadhead Tuning" My brother shoots a PSE X-Force shooting 335fps and he can still hit a bullseye with a muzzy at 50yds. Unless your hunting antelope in open country, you don't ever need to shoot a broadhead any farther than that so who cares if they plain out at long range.
Unfortunately with todays more forgiving bows people aren't taking the time to learn the skill of Archery with a compound bow. This goes for the users and the bow shops. I have been to several shops in recent years that don't even know how to paper tune a bow. I walk out the door.

got to put in affect that the bone of the scapula is very thin unlike the wood that you were using. the rage will go thru the first shoulder blad but not always the second. If you hit the ball joint in the shoulder its hard to get any broadhead fixed or machanical to penetrate very far. if you want a broadhead that is going to get good penetration every time go with a large chisel tip fixed blade is your best bet.
