my personal opinion is that I would not do it. If it is against the regulations, no matter how small of an infraction it may be, then it is poaching. Sure, you probably wouldn't get caught or in much trouble, but it is a matter of personal ethics. I wouldn't want to know I took an animal that wasn't legal for me to take. I just saw a story of a wildlife officer who shot a hen turkey that he thought was a tom. even though no one was around, he still turned himself in and paid the fine. Now thats a true hunter and outdoorsman.
