Well, deer season has been going pretty slow. We Have not saw a shooter buck yet, until today. I had wanted to get up early, but DAD thought we'd try going in a little later and setting longer into the day. Bad idea. Got up at 7:00 and headed to the woods around 7:45, we were walking across our hayfield when a nice dark horned 8 pointer busts out of the woods and down the field, followed by a doe. I turned to Dad, and if looks could kill he'd be a goner. Saw two more does from the stand. That evening at right before sunset, Dad's taping a big ol' fat possum when I see a Deer. Two does go flying right under our stand and there's a big one behind them. He stops about a 100 yds from us, it's getting darker so Dad does some grunts to try and bring him in. He just hangs out, making a rub, in the mean time another buck comes in, a small 8, it's almost dark so I get ready to go ahead and take the smaller one, well, the smaller 8 see's the big boy and decides to get out of town. Dad tried a snort wheeze, then ANOTHER buck snort wheezes back from out in the stripper hills. The big boy waits until it's pitch dark, then comes over to see what's grunting at him, he gets within 20 yds and is pawing the ground. I thought the redneck was gonna come out in me, even though shooting time was over I was dieing to take a shot! I didn't though. From the footage Dad was able to get he looks like a massive 8 pointer. We were just glad to see that there are some decent deer around here. We were begining to lose hope. Definitely looking forward to the rest of deer season! Dad has to work tomorrow so I'll be in the same stand. Not sure if I'll bring the camera or not. Wish me luck!

Awsome story man, you posting the video on here? We'll have to see what I can add to it in the morning. Hopefully the big boy down! Here's a still of the video. Not much good footage because he was around 100 yds behind us. The pic is blurry but you can tell how tall he is and the mass he has.

This Moning's Hunt Got out at 7 this morning. Went up the tree to put up the camera arm to try to self film but I couldn't figure the stupid thing out! I was ready to throw it out of the tree. Plus, It was in the teens, degrees wise so my hands were freezing! I ended up just sitting it down beside me. Strapped myself in, got my gun loaded and sat quietly. Didn't see a thing until 8:50. I saw something moving maybe 150yds behind me on a grassy lane. Thought it was someone walking but I saw no orange. Figured it was a deer and then it raised it's head. Big buck! I'm pretty sure it was the same one we saw last night. He was just walking the lane. I got ready hoping the bruiser would come in our woods. The last time I saw him he was around 70 yards. I just saw a speckle of snow white horns through the thick stuff across the pond behind us. I waited for a while and saw nothing. I got the grunt call out and started grunting. Nothing came so I was snort wheesing, rattling, rubbing the trees. Nothing. I sat til 10:30 and didn't see anything else. I think I'll go out this evening in the same stand. This year so far, we have saw 3 different bucks around 9:00.

Chase, If you want to use the arm, try practicing in the backyard with it. It's no big deal to use but sometimes that ratchet sticks. It has to be open all the way to let the strap out. I'd be in the woods as much as I could today if I was you, the guys that have that lease are letting friends hunt today and I'm sure they will be pushing some stuff out of there. Guess they killed a huge buck with a palmated rack yesterday. That was probably the single shot we heard in the evening. Good luck.
