Hey Guys,
I just ordered a crow decoy and downloaded some crow sounds for my e-caller. I was gonna give crow hunting a try in a couple weeks. Anyone ever try this before? If so, some tips would be appreciated. I will post a report of my hunt when I can.

I've tried it with my E-caller with not much luck. They never want to get close enough for a shot. They just stay out of range calling their heads off. I may try again tomorrow. Good luck! I'm just lookin forward to dove season myself.

I have never tried it yet but i am hoping to soon also. My dad used to shoot em all the time when he was a kid. What he would do is put out a couple crow decoys and owl decoy and then start calling.

Well since your in Ohio im sure the birds are the same where I hunt them as where you hunt them. I take a few decoys and put them out in the middle of a field where i can hide in a lot of cover. then if you can place an old deer hide out in the middle of the field where it looks like they are eating it. Then get one of the crow calls that they sell for turkey hunting and use that. The louder the call the better. Its a lot of fun and really good to get your shooting skills in tune for bird hunting.

just leave them for other animals to eat. nothing goes to waste in the woods. I've heard of some people eating them but I wouldn't.

I went once to try to kill the mighty o'crow with no luck. The guy I went with put out a owl decoy with a couple of crow decoy's around it,making it look like the owl was eating one of the crows and two ta three crows fighting of the owl. We had a electronic call as well and they did come in but one of us missed the crows where a little gun shy after that. I always said all we needed was a McDonald's bag with a couple of french fries on the ground and it would of worked just as well lol.

From what I have read on some crow hunting websites, the first crow that comes in is a scout crow and if you kill that one, then the rest know to not fly in.

I just went out to try and kill one and my call wouldn't turn on. I just put fresh baterries in it before I went out last time so it shouldn't be that.
