My cousin is a charter fisherman on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. We go down there every summer and spend a week with my aunt and uncle. Every time we go down he takes me out on a couple fishing trips. This year i caught a lot of nice fish including a 40 pound jack crevelle, a 30 pound black tip reef shark, a 70 pound sting ray, as well as many spanish mackeral and blue fish which we cleaned and had a fish fry with. I was so excited when i caught the Jack that i forgot about the contest so i didnt hold up three fingers. O well. But all in all we caught a lot of fish and had a great time. Attachments:

Wow! Looks like it was a great trip! That jack was definitely "Fish of the Year" material. That had to have been a great fight. Thanks for sharing the pics!

Nice job! Did something try eating that 40lb jack? If so I would not swim in those waters.

Thanks I was really upset when I realized that I had forgot about the contest but I guess it happens, and yeah a shark hit it while I was reeling it in. There are monsters out there. A few years ago i caught a 9 foot bull shark near the same place.

It took me around 45 or 50 minutes to get it in. My arms were numb haha

that is a huge shark to pull in. you're really lucky to have a cousin who is a fishing guide down there!

Wish I could go on one of those trips. My dad went on a saltwater trip and only caught one small fish.
