My family and I are going camping next to a pond. I might try some night fishing. What do you do or use to catch fish. I've tried it before and never caught anything or even a bite. I've seen the fish with a flashlight but never caught anything. Post any tips.

the ultimate night bait is a black jitterbug cast it out wait till the ripples are gone and bring it in with a slow retrieve then i also use buzzbaits like the others said and black plastic worms

I was gonna say black jitterbug too. just work it at the slowest speed where it is still jittering. I caught my biggest bass ever after dark on a black jitterbug. believe it or not, black lures are easier for bass to see at night, so whatever lure you use, choose a dark color.

The July/August issue of Bass Master magazine has an article called "A Guide's Guide to Night Fishing." The recommended lures from the article are spinnerbaits on windy nights, creature baits around cover, big jigs with a trailer, big 10-12 inch worms, and buzzbaits.

caught only a couple sunfish, and had one bass bite. Maybe next time i'll get a big one.

I would have also suggested a black jitt3erbug and i fish them the exact same way as Brian and vinny said.
