Well my dad, brother and I finnaly got time to go on the water this past weekend, but had to get up early because we knew that being a holiday weekend, a lot of idiots would be out and about around 10. so we left the house by 4 in the morning, and launched the ol' Javelin by 5. I was fishing a medium shad colored crankbait, and we went on the main lake where there was a big hump where bass like to hang out. No bites there. So we then headed back in between some islands on the edges of grass beds, and on my second cast, I caught a 1 1/2 pounder. A few casts later, and I got a BIG bite, I mean this joker SLAMMED it, I knew he was gonna be good. so I set the hook, and was in for a good fight. Well I got him to the boat, and it turns out to be my biggest lake/river bass, going at 5 lb 4 oz. Then a few more casts after that, I caught a nice 2 pounder. the bite shut off around 8, and we pulled out at 10. Turned out to be a great day, and I skunked my brother and dad. Attachments:

Nice one! Sounds like a real good morning on the lake. I know what you mean about the idiots. I'd rather work weekends during the summer just to avoid 'em!

Troy, luckily for you, you have plenty of trolling motor only places to fish near you. Most of us have to just deal with the idiots to get our fishing in. I wish the state had more idol speed only places to fish
