Last week while mowing I noticed where the deer had eaten my grass down to the dirt. Last night my son and I saw a doe and fawn outside his bedroom window cropping grass. There are 3 different spots like this. Each spot is a kind of a wet spot and since we get about 3" of rain every other day these days it stays saturated. I noticed this last year as well.

tell me about it. I live in the middle of a suburb and we have deer eating our tomato plants and cucumber vines. Nothing works to keep them out either. They are barely scared of us anymore.

I built our house myself and the year I was building it on the first day of gun season (07') I came to this property and hunted from daylight until about 9:30. (lots of work to do) Well anyway I had my muzzle loader with me while I was working on the wiring and I got a phone call around noon. I walked to what is now our bedroom and saw a tall racked 8 pointer rakeing his horns on a small tree. (40 yards or so). I guess that I'm virtueous or something because fair chase wouldn't let me shoot him out my future bedroom window.(although later a coyote fell from the same window). Anyway a year later I shot this buck, not from my window but on the same property.

I just took this picture from my son's bedroom window. This pic is not to good but you can see the places in the yard. I wish that little doe would come and eat my grass in the yard instead of my soybeans though.

I think you need to just hunt in your yard this fall.
