Got to the boat ramp at 5:15 a.m and was not able to go out until 7am due to lighting storms. After the storms cleared we set up at 50fow and started catching fish, first fish was a 8# king on modify green dophlin mag. on downrigger(dr). Second fish came off of double orange crush mag. off of dr and was a nice lake trout. Last two fish came off of green dipsy with orange spoon and where coho's. We had a good rip on a full core and modify blue dophlin fish just keep pulling drag until the line broke. Then right after that one got away a half core took off screaming and it got away but the line did not break on that one. Had a couple of other fish on,but me and my buddy was arguing about who was going to reel it in and the fish would get off. We knew there was high winds and more storms coming so we only fished until 1p.m.
After we got home 80 plus mph winds came threw the area and it was nasty. Lake Michigan was no place to be.

Thanks for the report! Sure would like to see what broke your line. Sounds like you guys need to play nice and take turns reeling them in!

Troy that came off wrong, I want him to reel them in and he wants me to reel them in. So we both just sit there while the drag is going zzzzzzzzzz and neither one of us will get up to grab the rod. I guess after you reeled so many you don't really care to reel them all in. If you come on my boat you better be ready to reel them all in. I usually reel in fish only when there's a double and that's only sometimes. As far as what broke the line I don't know, but I think we were in to shallow of water when we started and the 10 colors of lead core was rubbing the bottom of the lake. When we got the line in the line was ruff at the end weaken.

OOOHHHHHHHH! My bad. Chase would be right at home on your boat then. He's what I like to call a "rod hog."
