The weather warmed up this week and so did the appetite of Lake Erie's walleye. From the Maumee Bay to the Reef Complex, there were many reports this week of walleye limits. The walleye were hungry. Went fishing yesterday and today, with several friends from Indiana. Both days we fished in 7-10 f.o.w. targeting humps. Today we left the dock and returned with 12 plump Erie walleye...in two hours. Walleye were 18-25 inches...averaged 22 inches. Hair jigs....purple, green, and white were the ticket. Waves were 1-3 feet this morning, then building to 4-6 feet by mid-day. The periods before and after spawning can be times of feeding frenzy, and some of the largest walleye of the year are taken. Give me a call if I can be of help. Tight lines. Capt. Rick
