Starting Saturday, I've got 6 days off with the family for spring break. We had planned on going to my nephew Luke's place in Alabama again for more of this: Now Luke's parents are going to be there at the same time, and we don't want to impose. We would love to visit my parents in Florida, but I just don't have enough time off and the finances really aren't there for a long trip this year. So.....I'm trying to think of a place in Indiana where we can take the boys and make one of our fishing videos. I guess the only criteria would be that there's a hotel nearby with an indoor pool. (Gotta keep the Mrs. happy! ) I contacted Capt Kevin about going after Michigan coho, but he's not getting his boat out until the following week and it looks like the rivers are going to be at or near flood stage down this way. I'm not bringing a boat, so it will be bank fishing, unless someone's not camera shy and wants to take us 3 out. We can go anywhere in Indiana or the surrounding states. Any ideas???

If we get some good ideas we might start a poll to pick one.

Reelfoot Lake Tennessee! My buddy went about this time last year and annihilated gills and crappie. SHould be a close hotel w/ pool. He says there are plenty of places to rent a boat. He rented a cabin at a fishing lodge that included a boat. It cost him about $350 for 4 days. Cheap! He is dying to go back. It should only be a 4-5 hour drive for you, too.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was looking into Reelfoot last night and found a few places that didn't sound too bad. I didn't see anything close to $350 for 4 nights and a boat though, I'd a been all over that! I started looking at places on Patoka and was checking out a cabin with a hot tub when Kim walked behind me and said "HEY! What's that!" Well, long story short, we're booked. www.patoka.com/aframehottub.html The boys and me will probably rent a boat and go after some of those slab crappie. We're only staying 2 nights, so we'll have some time for local fishing too. Matt; try to find out where your buddy stayed. I'd love to go down there sometime. Anthony; Thanks for the tip on the paylake. I didn't know there were any that close. We'll have to check it out.

I just talked to him. He stayed at Blue Back Resort and he said there was a resort right next door called Cypress Point. It cost him and his girlfriend $400 for 4 nights. That includes boat, motor and live bait. He got to stay an extra three nights for $100 total b/c they didn't have a booking right after him. So, he ended up staying 7 nights for $500! They didn't give him the $100 deal until the final day of his stay, so he had o idea he was gonna be staying there that long. They point u in the right direction for fishing, too.

Hey, there's only one person in that tub! I would at least go for 2! It's pre-spawn so the odds are in your favor. It's March so the weather may not be in your favor. Hopefully, the weather god's will help you a little. The only problem is...so much water with so little time. I struggle fishing large bodies of water, it's my biggest weakness as an angler. Although, I have had some good outings at Monroe in my youth. Good luck...when will you be going?
