Sounds like you're almost ready bowboy! Good luck to you! We'll be going again, not sure if we'll make an early trip to Alabama again or not. On that note; Chase's Alabama hunt from last year will be uploaded in the next week or two. Booey still hasn't said for sure if he's gonna try it this year. Chase and me have killed all of our birds with the same gun; a 20ga H&R single shot shooting 3" Winchester Supreme #5 shot. Chase upgraded for this year with a Benelli Nova that shoots 3 1/2" and was planning on being able to reach out there a little farther this spring, but now NAP wants Chase to try and kill a turkey with one of their new broadheads. (Gotta keep the sponsors happy! ) Hopefully we can bring them in closer than we did last year, or it's gonna be tough going with a bow. Chase is going to try it though. (At least for the first weekend. )

I'll probably try it again this spring if my "guide" is available. Hint, Hint!!! I'm not sure you can afford my rates. (Especially if I charge by the hour! ) You got those new calls for Christmas, I figured you'd be showing US how it's done this year. I just got Chase's Alabama hunt edited. I think it turned out pretty good. (Except for Chase wearing HIT Squad gear. ) I'll upload it later tonight.

I will be going after my first turkey this year. Don't know how much luck I'll have (I will be hunting public land) and the only chance I will get is on march 28, until 1:00 in the afternoon. I will be using a remington 870 with winchester supreme #5 shot 3 1/2 loads. I may try with my bow... but I just dont know yet. Right now I'm just focused on my hog hunt in the beggining of march, and bass fishing since its in the mid 50's. Should be in the 70's by the end of the month.

Never turkey hunted before but I think I'm going to this spring. I was debating between bow or shotgun but since I've got my heart set on a new bow I'll just use the shotgun. I don't think I'll have a new bow before then.

I'll be heading to southern Indiana again for the 22nd year I think hunted on private and public land and always had better luck on public. I use a Remington 1187 Super Mag with 3 1/2 " Winchester #6's.

Good luck to everyone this spring! For you guys that are trying this for the first time a bit of warning; it can be addicting! A big ol' tom gobbling it's head off a few feet away can really get your blood pumping. Hope you all can have as much luck as I did my first time; my first season lasted about 15 minutes! I had called in a bird for Chase the year before, here it is....

Love It! Love It! Love It! Would really like to kill one with a bow but I hunt mostly ag fields and it can be real tricky getting one in bow range and getting to full draw. All my turkeys have came from a Mossberg 835 12 ga., using 3 1/2" Winchester Supreme 5's with at least 2 oz. shot. I've had really good luck with that set up. On two Kansas trips where they have a 2 bird limit, 2 of my kills were outside 50yds with one being 60 yds up hill. The part of Kansas we hunt has terrain similar to Greene Co. but only trees in the draws. The birds fly down and head to the open hills so it is a real challenge to get one close, you just about have to have something that will reach out and touch one. And I've had great luck with my mossberg. A great gun for the money. Some guys have trouble ejecting 3 1/2" shells, but I have never needed a follow up on about a dozen turkeys or so. I use the same gun for ducks but shoot 3" and have never had a problem.
