im sure the second rut will be where the good hunting is at and itll probably start this week when us indiana boys won't be able to hunt but we can still possibly catch the tail end of it.

I nearly tagged two does because they came running up at 40 yards but a guy about 200 yards away on the other property stood up and spooked them off

Actually I found out about this thing today while interning at crane. It was killed by Chris laughnager and it actually only scored 160 and according to the guy that told me it looks so big because Chris is a small guy and he was a bit farther behind it than the picture shows.
Thanks for the heads up. Have you ever bow hunted Glendale?
Yea a few times and its actually a decent place to bow hunt. Plenty of different types of habitat to hunt and they even have all the corn fields and stuff that you can hunt over.

I'd be up for that but martin SF isn't a good idea unless you feel like walking a couple miles to get away from all the hunters

i never found out if it was legit but i heard alot of people talking about it and it sure does look like a highway in crane in the background. plus you can see the tracks in the back and most of cranes main highways have tracks right next to them. It looks to me like it could be the parking lot at the resource building where the picture was taken.

Thanks guys. Yea when I found out it was only 1.5 year old I was stunned and I'm puzzled as to how it got that big. The only food in that area is grass acorns and persimmons.

Well i went up to crane today for their opening day of firearm and it ended up working out. We got to crane at 1 AM and slept in the truck until they let us out of the parking lot at 5:30 and i was in the tree by 6. I didnt see or hear anything early in the morning and most of the time was spent hugging the tree because of the wind. at about 2 the sun came out and the shots started ringing out. at 2:30 this guy stepped out and since it was going to be tagged as a military refuge hunt i took him. 8 hours in the stand ended up paying off! He got aged and was actually only a 1 1/2 year old. would have been a monster in a few years.
