Thanks Troy. After those tail comparison pictures, I just retired from the hunting game. LMAO!

Why havent you all been posting vidoes...i was looking to forward to see what you all were catching this summer.. Well, probably because we haven't CAUGHT anything this summer! Looks like the only way Chase is going to make anymore videos is if he teaches his girlfriend to hunt and fish. Girls can screw things up for us guys pretty bad. Although Troy, you've got it made. It sounds like you might need to find a new hunting/fishing partner? If only I lived much closer!

Thanks for sharing! Looks like a great place. That walleye jigging every evening would definitely be my cup of tea. Your bear story sounds like something you'd see on Scare Tactics! I could've jigged Walleyes all day every day! I absolutely loved it!

That's a nice northern. Your experience doesn't sound too far off from the one my group had when we went in June. Though we only dealt with high winds on the last day we were there. It took me about a month for getting over the depression of not being in Canada fishing. Lee, I have had Canada withdrawals since the minute I left. I can't wait to get back. I would love to move up there

I have been certified to measure deer for over ten years and have put a tape on a ton of deer. Considering he has short ones and is only a nine pointer(main frame 8) it would be difficult for a deer to reach the numbers you have posted. He might surprise me but for me it looks like he would be hard pressed to get to the numbers you think he might. Regardless he is a heck of a deer and would look good on any mans wall. Good luck with him this fall I agree totally. However, it is still one heck of a deer that any one of us would like to have the opportunity to shoot. Not many guys get to shoot a 145" or bigger deer and this one easily gets past that. I would guesstimate his net score to be around 155 and his gross to be 163 but you might gain a few inches more because he has exceptional mass. Good luck and I hope to see pics of this dude on the ground before too long

Looks great. I have realized I need to thin out some trees to open up the canopy if I am ever going to get anything to grow at my grandma's. I wondered about that???

Had a great time at La Reserve Beauchene even though the fishing wasn't as easy as I had hoped. We battled high winds most of the week. On our final fishing day we had to get off the lake at about noon because the waves were to the point of scary and we were taking on water too many times. Thank God for a bilge pump ! We caught a lot of smallies but very few had any size to them. We managed about 30 northern's in my boat and dozens of walleye. We finished each day of fishing off by jigging for walleye for about 3 hours. We would catch about 20 each evening in my boat. I really enjoyed jigging for walleye. I could've spent the whole week doing that. I would go back to beautiful Lac Beauchene in a heart beat. Here are some pics from our fun week: The crew getting ready to head out on day 1 (notice the beautiful cabin!) This is where we ate breakfast prior to heading out each day...all the meals were awesome! This was our typical evening meal that was delivered hot to our cabin each night My big smallie for the week - 18" My biggest walleye for the week - 22" 35" Northern Our cabin at night On our final day after we realized we couldn't fish (wind) a few of us were playing games and my brother-in-law (Todd) went up to the main lodge for something. When he came back he said that they told him a black bear was spotted at the main gate that morning. One of the guys (Dez) from the group headed down to the pier to enjoy the waves rolling in. Todd then tells the rest of us that there wasn't a bear spotted but he was just trying to set Dez up for a scare later that night. In Dez's room there was a bear rug on the floor and Todd was going to go outside and throw it over himself and crawl up in the treeline. Later on I distracted Dez by taking him out back and trying to get good night photo's of the cabin all lit up and in the meantime Todd heads into the trees with the bear rug. Me and Dez get done with our photos and he starts to head inside. To keep him from heading inside and getting him near the trees where Todd is I say, "Hey look at the moon reflecting off the water, we need to get a photo of that". Well the photo spot for this spectacular moon shot is about 10 yds from where Todd is hiding in the brush. When we get over there Todd makes a few movements and Dez here's it but doesn't really pay attention. So I make the comment, "what the hell is that movement in the brush?!" Dex immediately pipes in, "maybe it's that bear that was in camp earlier this morning!" At that point I knew we had him...hook, line and sinker! He starts to reach for his knife as he is sneaking up through the trees and then Todd comes crashing out and scares the living sh!t out of Dez. It worked marvelously! He totally fell for it! Here is Todd with the bear rug: A beautiful Lac Beauchene sunset! Some pics of our cabin The upper deck which faces the lake

A little update on my food plot...it sure is growing nicely! I couldn't be happier up to this point. The deer are really starting to feed on the turnip greens which are about 6 inches tall already! I also have some pics of deer laying down in it. This pic shows the soybeans growing in the foreground and the brassicas growing in the background. The brassicas patch. Really happy with this so far!
