Sorry I didn't get to post the trip info last night. I was a little tired from fighting fish all day... I started talking with Captain Paul a few weeks ago trying to put together a trip of a life time. My rating for Captain Paul is A+!! Paul had spent several hours the day before scouting for bait and looking for schooling fish. This man does his homework. He put lots of time and energy into making sure we had a great time. He had pre planned the wind and weather to make sure we would have fishable water. We started off getting some live bait and quickly moved onto the fish. He spent several minutes making sure the boat and wind were perfect. After he got everything perfect he pulled out great rod and reels to pull in those monsters. His boat and all equipment were in great condition and he took the time to teach us throughout the day. He doesn't just throw out the line and wait for the fish to bite. He puts on a class during your down time. Within moments of setting up we had fish on. We had 20 pounders then 10-15 pounders then a few 8-10 pounders then big ones again. We were getting doubles so fast it was hard to keep up with the fish. Captain Paul took his time and made sure each rod was taken care of and all rods were baited to keep you fishing. We had a great ending with a nice 35+ pounder. Captain Paul took the time and made sure all rods were put up and trolling motor was down and we were off to catch up to that monster. After about 12 minutes it was in my arms. The smile on my face throughout the day shows my true feelings for the day!! Thanks Captain Paul!!

I would like to thank Captain Paul for a great time. You can't ask for a better man. From our first phone conversation I knew he would give us some memories on the Ohio River. WOW!!! Memories can't even begin to describe Captain Paul. He is full of information from years of on the water experience. This man has done his homework. I've fished with many great people over the years and I believe he is one of the friendliest people I have had the pleasure to meet. If you want a memory of a lifetime, book your trip tomorrow. Thanks Captain Paul!!!

Well as most of you know I'm a big deer and waterfowl hunter. But this year has been less than fun. I started the year with a good bow season and looking forward to gun season. But opening morning of gun season it turned ugly. I had a diverticulitis attack and was down for the remainder of the season. I was able to get out one time with a good friend but missed a nice buck at 150 yards. As for duck season it just hasn't happened. After being down for 2 weeks with diverticulitis then I got the flu and down for another week. Then a week later I got a call from my doctor telling me I needed to see a kidney specialist. After a few weeks of tests and sleepless nites I found out my kidneys are damaged and only working at 80%. They dont really have an answer to why or if it will get worse. I have to go back in June for more test and maybe a little surgery. But the good news is I'm feeling better and looking forward to fishing. I'm heading down to the river the first weekend of February to see Camo Guide Service then heading to Kentucky Lake for Spring Break to catch some slab crappie. In May we're going to Lake Erie for walleye and then Leech Lake in MN in June for northern pike and walleye. Lets go fishing boys and girls!!! I would like to thank Troy for checking in on me a few weeks back. Thanks again Troy and we'll hook up next year and get some waterfowl.

I wanted to wish everyone a safe and tag filled opening morning of gun season. Everyone be safe and remember to wear a safety harness if your in a stand. This will be my last post until Saturday afternoon. Between BOA Nationals this weekend and deer hunting its going to be a little crazy. This weather has really screwed up the rut in my opinion. I was in the stand for 13 hours yesterday to only see 6 deer. I had been seeing 20-25 in 6 hours. I was able to see a really nice 6 pointer 140 class and either a 12-or 14 pointer pushing 180 class. You can imagine which I would like to see Saturday AM. Good luck to everyone and be safe!!!
