It was slower today. The wind and several shots over the past several days has pushed the birds out for a while. Giving the field a rest for a few days then heading back. In 3 days we have harvested 108 birds. We need to get together this year for sure. I'll make the day work just give me a date and a location and we'll kill you guys some ducks and geese. There is plenty of good public land that we can gets some birds.

Well its been a LONG time since I posted. I haven't had time to breath this year with work, work and work. I've been working 50-60 hours per week with little time for fishing or hunting. I took the year off from the tournaments and tried to focus on work. We have been expanding our company and its paid off. My goal is to take the winter off and it looks like its going to happen. I went dove hunting 2 times this past week and heading out in the am again. Trying to keep the limit streak going. Limited out Thursday and Friday within a few hours each day. Boy was shooting a little rusty. I wish Troy and Chase could have been there to tape the hunt. Great looking fields with lots of shooting available. And I'm really close to your house Troy. You guys should head over in the am. Give me a call if you guys want to go. I hope everyone had a great summer!!

I had my first local tournament today. Our club started of the year with a trip to Monroe. The weather started out a little rough but improved as the day went on. We started with 20-30 mph gusts and rain. It was around 42 degree air temp and 46 degree water. By 4pm we had 5-10 mph winds and 52 degree water. Everyone fished our butts of today with only one keeper. I told my non-boater today that whoever brings a fish to the scale was really lucky. And if they brought in 2 they were cheating. Guess who got lucky... Yes it was my lucky day. I must have dropped it on his head. I had one that went 3.88lbs. I also had one catfish that went 3.5 and 1 crappie that went 1.22lbs. It was a very tough tournament with water levels 9 feet above pool and cold water. I threw everything including the kitchen sink. Crank bait from 0-28 feet of water. Jigs, spinnerbait, and chatterbait. Mine came out of 2-3 of water on a white chatterbait. The ponds are a lot warmer and very easy to catch fish at this time but the big waters are a different story. I'm heading to Kentucky Lake on Friday to catch some crappie and pre fish for my bass tournament coming up in a few weeks. Good luck to everyone!!

I'm sorry for missing you Huntingman. By the time I got done with a 6 hour Indiana Bass Federation directors meeting and walking around I was worn out. I'll get with you and try your calls before next season.

Sounds like your going to have a great vacation. Living off the land sounds like a blast. I have always wanted to do something like that. I'm heading to Kentucky Lake for Spring Break. We're staying @ Big Bear Resort and Marina. Going to do a little crappie and bass fishing. Trying to get a little R&R before the tournament trail starts. In June me and a bunch of guys are heading to Leech Lake MN to do some walleye and pike fishing. This has been a annual trip for the past several years. Every weekend is a vacation for me and my family getting to travel and do what I love to do. I'm very blessed.

Any fish from Florida is a good fish when we can't even get on the water unless we have skates on. Great looking fish!!
