I learned something today....ice fishing in the rain SUCKS! Kipper Jim and me started off on Kickapoo and had to get back in a cove to avoid the biting wind. I caught a 3" pumpkin seed before we decided to head over to Shakamak Lake. We got our holes drilled just in time for it to start raining. We stuck it out for a while, but the fish I was marking weren't biting, so we waved the white flag. It's pouring right now and I'm afraid the ice will be toast by the time I'm off again.

I AGREE!!! It's a shame too. Sam and I finally found some fish at Chinook FWA about the time the ice/rain started. Hit 3 different pits in the morning with very few bites and 2 fish on the ice. Finally hit the lake right next to I-70 and started catching fish. Not a lot of size but did end up with a decent mess. Ended up with 16 keepers before the rain chased us off the ice.
