My day ended a lot better than it started. Woke up this morning sick at my stomach and feeling like crap, but went ahead and made the hour plus drive through the snow to work. We had extra people today, so I volunteered to go home around lunch time. Came home and took a nap, and then felt good enough to go drill some holes.

I'm with you, I like the normal graph screen instead of the flasher setting. I use the split screen which has the normal graph and then on the far right side of the screen there is a sliver that is a real time graph that gives you a much better image of you lure, the bottom and the fish. The sliver part is just like a Marcum Showdown. If I were you I'd go to Wampler instead of Shakamak and hammer some of those giant redears in there It's too bad the ice isn't gonna hang around, I'd like to make a trip down there with you to hit the ice. I'm hoping to get out tonight since I haven't went yet. I can finally go since I don't have any traps out now.

Good to see you found some fishable ice, plus you caught some nice fish. I'd still like to test out my ice gear I won from G & G, but that doesn't look like it will happen soon.
I was tempted to venture to my spot out by Patricksburg, but I figured going solo was a bad idea for my first attempt at ice fishing.

Hard to believe I was walking on that ice just yesterday! It's open all the way around now. The pond is actually 2 or 3 inches higher than yesterday after all that rain and the ice pack is now floating.

Fried up my catches this evening. Cleaned them whole and I ate every one. I did fry up some crappie filets for the rest of the family.

Looks good but after looking at the montly forecast, don't expect to be on any ice for a long time.
