From the DNR:
An Indiana man is charged with killing two bobcats.
The Putnam county Prosecutor will charge 43 year old Darin Hull of Reelsville with two counts of illegal possession of a bobcat.
Bobcats are a protected species in Indiana.
Indiana Conservation officers believe Hull trapped and skinned two bobcats. Officers found bobcat hides in a freezer.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources sponsors Trapper Education classes that stress techniques to reduce the number of non-target catches. A bobcat legally taken in another state may be possessed in Indiana with proper documentation.
If you have questions about bobcats or other non-game species, contact IDNR Non-Game Biologist, Scott Johnson at (317) 232-4080.
