Forcast A major winter storm will be moving in tonight and lasting through Wednesday. Freezing rain and sleet will begin this afternoon with minor ice accumulations by sunrise. Widespread slick roads will be present throughout the Wabash Valley! A second and more intense round of freezing rain and sleet will move in on Tuesday with ice accumulations around the one inch mark common along the I-70 corridor. North of I-70 will see more sleet with three to five inches of sleet accumulation possible. South of I-70 will see less sleet but more rain with a light glaze of ice possible. Again, slick spots will be common throughout the Wabash Valley so please give yourself extra time for travel. Gusty winds of 10 to 30 mph will be around through this entire event. One to two inches of blowing snow will move in as this winter storm exits on Wednesday. I usually don't believe the hype from our local weather people, but this storm sounds like it's a doosey. The 12:00 news just called for 1.5 inches of ICE here. If we get half of that we're in trouble. I would much rather have the 10 inches of snow they're predicting for up north. They're bringing in extra crews to fix power lines, but it's hard telling how long it will be out if we get over an inch of ice.

My drive home from work was uneventful but that's a good thing. 41 was ok as I ran 50-55 going home and I couldn't catch the car in front of me. The back roads however required some caution.

We got about 10 inches of snow last night up here in Ohio and the freezing rain is starting to pick up. Depending on where the freezing line ends up, we are expecting either an inch of ice or another foot of snow. That groundhog better not see his shadow tomorrow.

I got a call from Sony this morning that they were closing the plant from noon today until at least noon tomorrow. I've been there 19 years and that's the first time I've seen them close for weather. It's only 24 degrees here right now and POURING down rain. The winds picking up too. This aint lookin good. I'll be shocked if we don't lose power.

Do you have a way of supplying heat if you do lose power...other than a bonfire in the backyard. We are preparing for a doozy up here too.

Brazil has been hit pretty good. My road and Harmony road, are both NOTHING BUT ICE! we still have power thankfully. I went to town earlier for a few necessities. Got some propane while i was in town. Lady at the station said she had sold 12 tanks since she came in this morning! Also got a load of wood on the way, Just in case. Highways are clear (40, 42, & 59) But I would not reccomend going out unless it is an absolute MUST! Be safe everyone. BTW Brazil KFC is closing at 5! BETTER HURRY BOYS!
