It looks like I will be making my first attempt at hard water fishing on Wednesday. I know a channel that freezes up early and holds giant bluegills and I am pretty sure it's safe to fish by now. Hopefully I'll have my new flasher by then I'll be sure to post my outcome.

Looking forward to your report. If you weren't so dang far away I'd be right there with ya. I know you would! I wish we weren't so far apart A couple of my buddies got on the ice yesterday afternoon and caught about 20 bluegills each with about 18 of them being keepers. The lake they were fishing was not froze far enough out to get to where the big ones are usually caught so we need more ice to come on soon. It got down to 7 degrees last night so much more ice should've been made! My buddies described the ice last night as a$$hole puckerin' I'm thinking about getting on there tonite b/c my flasher is supposed to be delivered today !

Best of luck Strippit, unfortunately most of the ice around my neck of the woods is crappolla, to much stuff locked up befor all the snow came in., This might be the year you southern boys get out before I do,lol. Oh well its early, not moving to Minnasota yet.

well, te ice WAS starting to look good down here. Then I get up this morning, and all this rain has made it look like "Junk" Ice. I have'nt been back out on it since yesterday, but I may take a trip out tonight after dinner. Who knows, the next 2 nights it is supposed to be below 10, so maybe it will thicken back up.

Good deal 'polecat! That's a nice mess, glad you guys were able to get out. This warm rain that's getting ready to move across Indiana is probably gonna screw things up for us.
