My parents are bringing me and my buddy erik on a fishing trip for my birthday this weekend. We are going to lake hartwell, which is on the georgia/south carolina border. We will be fishing for anything that wants to bite, but hopefully some bass, bluegill and catfish. I will upload pictures later and tell you how we did.

Well we just got back from the lake. It was a really fun weekend. We caught a lot of fish and had a great time. I ended up with about 20 blugills, 14 bass and a HUGE catfish. We were catfishing last night and were getting bored, so i put on a big piece of hotdog and left my pole. We walked to the nearby bride. When we came back 30 min later, the pole was gone. It was pitch black and we didnt see it anywhere. We go get my flashlight and start looking. I finally spot it 5 feet from shore in about half a foot of water pinned on a rock. The catfish had pulled my rod in, but luckily it got stuck on a rock. I went in and got it, thinking it broke off, but i felt something on the line! I started reeling and noticed that there was mud in my reel. I finally get it in and my dad runs and gets the net. It was about 10 pounds (my biggest catfish ever) I couldnt have asked for a better birthday present. I will try to upload the picture.
