Looks like I'm going to Mt.Vernon Indiana near Evansville Indiana for work, I'll be there for a month. I was just wandering if anybody been there, and is there and good public fishing spots. I see that there is the Indiana/Kentucky river down there. Any help would be greatly appreciated as far as what kind of fish to go for(catfish/small mouth) it would help by knowing what to take with me. Oh hey I leave on Monday. Thanks

Ohio has everything in it, so whatever you prefer to target. If you gonna be stuck on the bank, catfish would probably be the easiest. There is also a park in Mt. Vernon that looks like it has a good sized pond and you won't be far from the wabash river either. If you go north a little ways where the White meets the wabash there should be a power plant in that area that will hold monster strippers once the waters get cold.

Also Southwest of E-ville there is the Bluegrass FWA. I've never been there but it's old strip pits good for bluegill and crappie.
