EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Outdoor enthusiasts in southwestern Indiana are being urged to use caution if they go boating on the Ohio River because of low water levels on the river. Local observers say the river along Evansville and Newburgh and other communities in the state's southwestern tip is on the low side following the recent heat wave. The boating caution went out before hundreds of boaters took part in Sunday's annual SkiDay on the Ohio. The river was forecast to be about 13 feet deep at Newburgh and 14 feet at Evansville. Observers say that when the river is that shallow it can expose water hazards and create problems backing larger boats into the river at the Newburgh, Angel Mounds and Dogtown boat ramps. ------ Information from: Evansville Courier & Press, www.courierpress.com

Well I can scratch the Ohio off the list of possibilities of where I can go next weekend unless we do get some rain. I'm thinking Boggs or Monroe. Need to hit a different lake.

u should probably scratch boggs off ur list unless ur just interested in catfish. its great for channels an tons of yellow bellies that u can catch on just worms. but the bass fishing has been a complete bust this year for boggs in my opinion
