So I went night fishing at about 9:30 tonight and I was targeting bass. I only caught one and the release was very odd. I landed it and it flopped around and spit the lure out and stabbed me in the chest. then it flopped into a hole by the shore that had some water in it. i went to grab it and it went further in the hole and i couldn't see it. I reached in the hole figuring i would get bitten by a muskrat or snake or something hoping to find the bass first. I felt nothing at all in the hole. So i'm hoping it leads to the lake and he was released safely. Has this or anything similar happened to anybody else.

Sounds like one you will never forget. I do know one thing, you could never pay me to stick my hand in no hole not knowing what's in there.

if you go back today, try bouncing a jig in the hole, or working a soft bait across the top of it. you might land him again.

you could never pay me to stick my hand in no hole not knowing what's in there. Same here! One of the 12 inchers I caught today, I just set it back in the water and it's mouth was pointing up out of the water and it swam off like that. Chase was like, "What the heck!"
