OK, this is how I'm reading it after I've had some sleep. I went to bed shortly after I posted this on here and to me I made it sound like the "finally happened" part was for my neighbor to sell his boat due to health reasons. It may be just me but some others may have seen it that way as well. Fact of the matter is it was me finally buying a boat. I'd been in the market to buy one for close to 3 years. I never could make myself pull the trigger on one due to having a truck and house payment at the same time. After I paid the truck off in March I really started searching for one. The problem I kept running into was finding the time to actually go look at them. I was one of the first to be notified by my neighbor that he was selling because he knew I was looking for one.
OK, today I dropped close to $900 on this thing. Granted almost $600 of that was at the BMV with $420 of that being sales tax. Plus I got my registration to be good through 10-2011. The only thing I did with the boat today was sweep it out and I've got the trolling battery charging (it has a built in charger so I don't have to remove it, just run an extension cord to the boat and plug it in). The main battery will have to have a seperate charger put on it.
For those who don't know my dad suffered a minor heart attack back in April which required him to have a quintuple bypass done (that minor heart attack revealed a lot). Dad was released by his cardiologist to be able to play golf so I think tomorrow me and him will hit the links. I see it as I've been wanting a boat for 3 years so it can wait one more day before I put it on the water. Come Thursday, I see a full 4 days of fishing coming on.

Thats a nice boat! Let us know how the first day on the water goes!! My first day on the water with it was Thursday. Launched it around 6pm then the heavy down pours started shortly after 7. You know it's a good rain when the contents of your wallet get soaked (the wallet itself is still drying). Friday was a much better day. I caught 2 LM's in the morning but got skunked that evening.
