Hey guys. I just found out that I have to get my tonsils out soon. Anyone ever have this done? How was the recovery process?

I had it done in Dec. '08 when I was 34 yrs old. The first 2 days were pretty tough. Just plan on sleeping for a couple of days. You'll find it very hard to swallow your saliva. I just hung my head over the side of the bed and let my saliva drain out into a big bowl. I found that eating canned fruit was the easiest thing to swallow, so I ate tons of canned fruit. It'll take some time to heal but the procedure is well worth it. Good luck!

Everything went pretty good. I'm finally back to eating whatever. It was two weeks ago today. I lost 10 pounds from barely eating for the first week. Anyways, I'll be back to posting more.

It feels different to swallow, doesn't it? How miserable was it for you? My first 2 days of recovery were HELL!

I actually dont feel any difference in swallowing. I didn't have much pain either. it only hurt when I swallowed. The worst thing was being hungry all the time. I only ended up taking one pain pill the whole time.
