k guys.. i understand that that les is really amazing to gout there all by yourself. but i learn alot more from grylls, plus he has to be able to build all the rafts, tents, fures, etc. i lioke watching them both but my personal opinion is that bear is the best. P.S. anybody saw the episode where bear kills the snared hog with wis knife??? i never see much of that from Les(-= If you read the rest of the thread, you will see that we discussed that episode. Bear didn't even snare that hog himself, a farmer tied it up for him. Plus he does stupid stunts non stop. A person trying to survive is not going to willingly jump in icy water and quicksand. He should be teaching viewers how to avoid that stuff. Les puts himself in situations that are actually likely to occur. He put one arm in a sling for an entire episode to simulate an injured arm.

its not that hard to kill a hog that is tied up. I would like to see him corner a loose hog and kill it. also, why didnt he just tie his knife to a stick and stab the boar. seems much easier than diving on it which was just a gimmick for TV.

if im not blind, then I saw Bear wearing boots which most likely had laces. bootlace is more than tough enough to tie a knife to a stick. nobody in their right mind would try jumping on a pissed off hog. the dogs that are used to hunt boars wear kevlar vests because the boars are so dangerous.

ever wonder how long that wabbit was tie'd down there?
just putting in my two cents worth.
BTW whoever started this thread sure picked a winner. this is one of the most contraversial topics to date on BBB!
I STILL choose Les. Case n' Point, 6 min. 14 sec. - Ever seen Bear Grylls eating lobster while stranded...ALONE...IN A FREEKIN DESERT?!?!?!
Bear Grylls = Entertainer
Les Stroud = Teacher

Look how dumb bear grylls is. 1:15 in the video. this is why les tells you to take the head off and remove the butt

thanks for the compliment Anthony. I started the thread and it is the best one that I have started so far. I saw the last few minutes of Man vs. Wild last night while waiting for the next show to start. He was somewhere in Big Sky Country and came up to a railroad bridge that was on towers about 200 feet high. He decided the best thing to do was to free climb the towers. There is no way he did that without somesort of safety equipment. At the top, he had to get over an overhang and all he did was swing a chain over it which somehow hooked onto something. This was one of the fakest things I have ever seen on his show. WIthout his team of cameramen, Grylls would die in like 20 minutes.

I like Les and his show, more easy to relate to plus he vids himself. I'm sure either guy would be good to have with you in a survival situation, I think Bear is a former Army Ranger.

he was a member of the U.K. SAS TA., Till he broke his spine in 96. I dont think he would have made it in and american military. The T.I.'s would'nt be able to stand him.
