DNR put musky in Eagle Creek for the past two years to help control the shad. Look out shad!

I'm fortunate. I live about 15 miles from the State Fairground so I can go during the week. I usually go to the show two times. Once for the fishing seminars and tackle town. The other for the Motorcycle Expo. Friday evening is my day of choice. Any weekday evening is a good time to go, but it seems Friday is the best night to get through the entire show.

I didn't know Jim, but after watching him on John Gillespie Waters and Woods so many times, I felt like I lost a friend. The last episode was Jim, Pete Mania, John, and many others fishing for trout and salmon on Lake Superior. My wife actually said that she would like to do that.

I saw a link yesterday that said the Indiana Fishing expo has been canceled this year. Last year was the first time I had the opportunity to experience it and was really looking forward to meeting more people at this years event.
I didn't know if anyone on this site was part of the organization that promotes this event. If so, why was it canceled and what are the chances of it being rescheduled?
Also, is there a group or organization that puts this together? I may be interested in joining a group that promotes these types of events. I will be going to the Hoosier Muskie Hunter Meeting Thursday evening in Fishers. Bill James, Chief of Fisheries with the Indiana DNR wil be discussing Indiana's Muskie stocking program.
Meeting will be held January 10th at 7:30 PM at the Fishers American Legion Hall, 9091 E. 126th St. Fishers, IN 46038

Ely, MN. Boundary Waters Canoe area. We stay at LaTourell's Moose Lake Resort. Fishing is incredible for bass, pike, perch, and walleye. We target the smallmouth and the pike. Go the first part of June for the hottest action. When the water hits 60 degrees, everything is hungry. I've been a few places, and I keep going back there. They will be at the Indianapolis Boat, Sport, and Travel Show in February, or call Bob LaTourell at 800-365-4531. They also have a website you can check out.

Man, that's awesome! I've never seen a fish there. Were you jigging for them, casting, or dragging live bait?
Hopefully the weather holds steady for the next few weeks so I can get down there.

Ended up not making it to Bass. Stopped at a friends house in Clay City and fished his pond. It was cold and the line eyelets kept freezing up. Bite was slow so we stayed there and fished for bass. We ended up catching 14 in the late afternoon using minnows along a weedline within 5 feet of the bank. Good luck there this week. Let us know how you do.

There's a lot of wood in that lake. Guess that's what makes it so fishy. I'll go back up to Upper Long either this weekend or maybe Black Friday. Hopefully everyone will be out Christmas shopping while we're catching Muskie!

Fishing was slow. We started on North Webster at 7:30 AM and left at 1:30 PM without a fish or follow. Went over to Upper Long Lake and caught a 36'' and lost a big one right before we left at 7:30 PM. Both were hooked using live suckers. There were a lot of boats on the water at both lakes. I'm going to try and get back up there a couple more times before the end of the month.
