buck and doe down!

Alright. sorry I dont have any pics, ill get them from my uncle as soon as I can.

First morning we got up in the stand with a trail cut in front of us, and about 8 foot tall pines infront of that, and woods behind us. We didnt see any at sunrise like we thought we would, but an old doe and two yearlings walked out around 8:30. This doe was on her toes for some reason, never presented me a shot, scared the other two deer off and then left. we got down around 11:00.

At 2:30 we went back into the same stand. we started seeing deer at 3:45 when two Identical spikes and three yearlings walked out. Those spikes started fighting, and ran the ohter three deer off. All of the deer were looking behind them over their shoulder, so we thought something would walk out. at about 4:15 the spikes left. The sun was falling. One yearling came back, and she was still looking over her shoulder. At 4:34 ouy of the pines a main frame 8 point with broken tines and a broken g2 walked out. he was walking toward us, never giving me a shot. I was about to just shoot him in the chest, but then he finnaly turned broadside. He was trottin away, and I was not letting this deer walk. I put the cross hair on his shoulder and squeezed. I looked up trying to see where it ran but I didnt see or here anything! about 10 seconds later my uncle said, "dang boy! You dropped that sucker right on the spot!" So I looked through my scope, and sure enough I see his rack sticking up. So by this time I am bouncing off of teh walls wanting to go get the buck. My uncle was getting irritated because I was so excited I was shaking the whole stand. We finnaly went down and got the buck. He was around 130 pounds, about average for a 2 year old Arkansas buck.

The next day, we didnt see squat.

Friday we hunted a different stand that was looking at a 200 acre field of weeds with a shooting lane cut through the middle. That morning, accedentaly put 30-06 bullets into my 270. So of course, a big mature doe walks out, I squeeze the trigger, nothing. Luckily, because the barrell would have blown up. So I felt like a class A retard, and changed the bullets out. that afternoon we hunted the same stand. We didnt see anyhting for about two hours when a mature doe walked out, and I put the smack down on her, and her backstraps are sitting in my freezer as I type. I had a great time hunting and spending time with family.

the bullets didn't go off which was lucky for him because the pressure might have blown the barrel up.
