Thanks, guys! Yeah, I had about decided not to even hunt myself this year since Sam is hunting now. I've been taking him out every chance we get, but my buddy called a couple days ago and said he'd be off if I wanted to go. So, I talked to him last night at about 9:30 and made plans, got on line and bought a tag at 10:00, and had a deer on the ground by 8:00 this morning. I love it when a plan comes together!

Had 3 does (I think they were all does) walk by before shooting light. Had a squirrel easing his way toward me on the ground, so I nocked up a field tip, but he never gave me a shot. I had no more than gotten my broadhead arrow back on when I looked up and saw this buck. That squirrel could've screwed me royally. I won't be doing that again! He was moving away from me, so I grabbed my doe bleat can and hit it a few times. He ignored it at first, but finally turned and came right by me. Smoked him at about 12 yards. He ran about 40 yards and stopped. Thought he was gonna go down there, but he fell on his nose and got up and went about 20 more yards. Once again my old Browning and NAP Thunderheads got her done!
