Anyone hunt this morning, or going out this evening? I caught up on some sleep this morning , but will try it this evening. I'm gonna set the ground max up on the edge of our hayfield. All the crops are still in around here and the hayfield is the only open area around. I'm hoping all the turkeys around come to "shake off." The field also seems to be a staging area for some does that are hitting the beanfield every night. There should be room for both to shoot out of the blind, with Chase being a righty and Booey a lefty. Chase came within an inch of a doe/tom double last year, we'll see if we can better that tonight. Here's the video from last year when Chase got a shot at both a deer and turkey.

so far the rain has been GOOD to me. Seen a bunch of nice 8-pointers all within shootin' range but i decided to wait to see what would happen because my day had been full of good luck and then right at dark a NICE 360 lb doe steppped out at 55 yards broadside. took one arrow in the shoulder and didn't make another move again. 320 lbs. field dressed. LOTS OF SUMMER SAUSAGE

i dont believe it was 260 pounds. never heard of a doe that big. and i doubt u can shoot "easy" at 55 yards with a bow, sorry but thats just a stupid shot

i've never had a problem with 55 yards. but the doe was 220 field dressed. it was weighed by officials at crane navel airforce base, which is where i shot it and thats also why its so fat. hardly any1 hunts in the area i hunt in up there.

i agree with rutandstrut, even if you did shoot the doe at 55 yards and hit it would have very little penetration and went a lot longer than a few steps... and it is hard for me to believe that the doe was 320 lbs dressed.
