Wow, Chase saw the pic and remembered exactly what it was from. Back in '08 he killed a small doe and missed a big tom from a groundblind at this spot. This is the arrow from the missed tom! That broadhead held up amazingly for being out there that long.

That's great that he remembered the moment it was from. I've forgotten a lot more than I remember from my outdoor adventures.

Just had a week off and was thinking about going to Florida again, but we had these little bundles of joy to worry about...9 "goldendoodles."

Went mushroom hunting in a redwood forest near Santa Cruz last week and all I found were banana slugs!

That's a healthy banana slug.
From what I've read a lot of the morels found in California come from people's landscaping/mulch.

Yeah, I was checking all the landscaping too! Really thought I might find a few since it had been raining for 3 weeks before we got there. It had made everything green and beautiful!

Now if the weather would stabilize around here we might be able to find a few.

$3,000 and 5,000 scratch-off tickets. They taxed the tickets like money, so they took $8,000 worth of taxes out of the $3,000. I got a check for less than $1,000 after the show. We got around $2,500 on the tickets, so it made up what I lost in taxes. The biggest ticket was only $88.
