One great way to get bass on a crankbait is to buy a small lipped bait ( colorful is best) with the swivel off of the lip. It will catch fish in deep water. But if that doesn't work, Break the lip off

!!! crank it hard downward, then let it rise a little, then do it again!!! i caught some great bass like this, so try it.

Remember. it works best in deeper water
