This is a very informative video! I took notes to come back to when I'm headed that way so that I'll know what to fish for. All information was gathered through several years of log books kept at the Jacksonville beach pier. Whiting - Can be caught year round, but best when temps are 58-63 and ideal at 64-67. Pompano - Show up at 63. Ideal is 66-72. Speckled Trout - 70 and up. Ideal is 74-78. Redfish - 72 and up. 75 is ideal and fall is best. (Bull reds can be caught at cooler temps.) Black Drum - 67-74 is ideal. Flounder - Bite is best at 64 and up, 68-76 is ideal. Spanish Mackerel - 63 and up, 68-72 is ideal. Again, these stats were collected at the old Jacksonville Beach Pier before it was blown away by a hurricane. These temps should work for piers and surf fishing at other locals though. When pier and surf fishing with temps between 68-78 you can catch pretty much everything. Florida Water Temps Today - listed alphabetical; click on letters to find your beach.

The temp at Ormond and Daytona Beaches is only 60.6 so looks like it will mainly be whiting fishing next week. From the surf at least.

I’m rigging up surf fishing rods right now and just checked the temps. 64+ Degrees at Ormond and Daytona! Hopefully we’ll get into something tomorrow.

The wheels on that cart look interesting. I’ve been calling it her “moon rover.” 😂
