Guys, I have a question. I was on the Greene county and Sullivan county GIS the other day just goofing around and checking things out. I noticed the City of Linton owns quite a bit of property north of town. Is all this property open to the public? I've been going down there for weekend fishing trips for years and I've driven by these properties but I never realized they were owned by the city. I'm hoping to make a trip down there this summer and I'm looking for new places to hit. I'm not sure if these spots would be on my radar but I just want to know if these spots are a possibility. Has anybody on here tried to fish any of the pits on the City owned property?

Well, I just did Google street view to figure some of it out. It's all private even though it is city owned property. There are 3 different properties. One looks like it is the conservation club, another is where Sunset Park is, and the third is just a little further north and it is the site of Buck Creek Muzzleloaders. I didn't realize all these properties were city owned but after seeing that they are all gated I understand why I never knew...they appear to be private from the road. Also, after doing some research I see the Linton Conservation Club closed earlier this year due to liability reasons. This has obviously ruffled some feathers because there is a petition going around to reopen it.

Matt, I believe that sunset park is open to the public. I’ve heard some good fish stories from there too!
