Decided to sleep in a little and didn't get on the water til after 9. Had a couple dozen shrimp and was hardly out of view of the ramp when I landed a snook. Added a jack, a couple more little snook, a redfish, and a mangrove snapper before the catfish took over and wiped out my bait. Lol.
Tied on a DOA CAL 1/8oz jighead and shad tail and had several hits but couldn't hook up. Finally connected with a speckled trout just a few feet from the yak but he spit the hook as I was bringing him up. Same thing happened with a snook that I was able to get on the gopro.
The wind drove me crazy as usual but this is such a cool area! Most of the day I felt like I was in the middle of no where with not another soul around. Pretty darn fishy too!
