We're having internet problems, so we haven't been on as much lately. For as much as we pay for cable it should work perfect, but everytime the wind blows the cable goes out!

We've been happy with our cable tv/internet for the past year, then last week we get the bill and it went from $66 to $96. They said we had been on a "special" price and now it's gone to the regular price. Kim called to complain, but they could care less and offered to cancel it. I'd be glad to, but don't want to go back to dial up internet. We ended up going with the digital package for $8 dollars more a month that has the Outdoor Channel and a lot more. They brought out the digital box tonight, the cable guy was a real a-hole and then we didn't get any more channels, they said we ordered the box, but not the channels. Then the cable guy says we can't even get the Outdoor Channel here. (Even though we had it for a year before. : Anyhow, the a-hole leaves the box and says we just need to call and deal with them over the phone. Kim calls and they say we now owe $85 for installation and our bill will be $118 a month. Even though when Kim ordered it last week it was free installation and $104 a month. After being on the phone for an hour and ready to burst into tears or throw the phone through the wall after talking to 7 different idiots, she hands the phone to me. I'm on the phone for 10 minutes talking to a supervisor and get all the channels we ordered plus some movie channels, the $85 intallation removed, and our bill will now be $102 every month. I'm still not happy about paying $102 a month, but if we don't have high speed net, that would be pretty much the end of BB&B.

We go through Endeavor. formerly CCRTC. They dont have the Fiberoptics installed here yet (but they do only 500 yards down the road...WTH?!) so we are on the LOW side of high speed. Its fast enough for me to game online with, and surf the web , so I'm happy. I believe we pay about $34 a month for it, puls its bundled with our phone. I am doing some research to day, and looking into Sat-net. Thinking of checking out Hughes net. If they can offer faster and cheaper net, I may have to go with them. Will let ya know what i find out.

That's a shame Troy! Nothing like having an a-hole technician at your house. Usually when you threaten a cable company with pulling the plug on them they will all of sudden have a great plan for you. My local cable company has been pretty good over the years and have given me some wonderful deals to keep me around. I know my dad has DSL through his phone line that seems to be just as fast as my cable connection and only pays 29.95/month. So, that may be an option for you as well if this doesn't work out.

I tried the dsl route a couple years ago. AT&T started offering it in Jasonville for $14.95, so I jumped all over it. They came out to set it up and we couldn't get it, to far from town. If they ever upgrade the lines we'll supposedly be able to get it. Anthony - I checked into the sat. internet before too. DON'T THINK SO!!! It was going to cost more than our cable tv/internet combined.
