I've been able to get out on the ice quite a bit this year and it sure feels good being able to get out. I've had a little bit of success but there have been several disappointing outings. My season has been filled with a bunch of dink gills and crappies but I have had a little success with some walleye, white bass and a bonus dandy channel cat Here are some pics of my year so far...
No. Those crappie pics have kept me motivated! I've been researching long lining and spider rigging like crazy and you have me excited to set my boat up for it.
That's good to hear! Indiana needs to get with the program though when it comes to this type of fishing and allow the use of more rods. Dad and me were working 6 apiece down in Florida.
I agree. It's pretty tough to use this method effectively in Indiana. I'm not so sure if allowing this method on all lakes would be good for each lakes fisheries but certainly this could/should be allowed on the larger lakes and reservoir's such as Patoka, Monroe, Brookville, Salamonie, Mississinewa, and Wawasee, to name a few.

I guess, based on indiana's laws, the best I can do when long lining by myself is that I can use 3 poles with 3 hooks on each pole for a total of 9 hooks in the water. Not sure how well this would work but I may end up trying this just to maximize the amount of baits I can get in the water.
Greenedog: Yes but now I'm on my swing of working 6 out of 7 days working 12 hour shifts with a switch from days to nights in the middle. Whoever come up with this schedule was a psycho!

Greenedog: Hey, I'm always open to a BB&B Fishtogether! LOL. If my work stays fully staffed I might get a little more time off this year and maybe we can do a meet up? Allegiant flights are cheap. I have no plans to move either, other than being a snowbird some day.
