Dad and me took the little boat down the road to Moss Lake yesterday evening to do a little casting. I was wanting to catch a few decent bass to try and keep up with topwaterbass in the IA bass tourney, but we didn't have much luck. Only managed 1 14 incher... We caught quite a few dink bass, gills, and Dad even caught a couple crappie on a small topwater lure. Dad was casting a frog for a while and had a pretty good hit until it spit the lure and it came flying at my head... At least we had a pretty good chuckle over that! It was a good time until we were quitting for the evening....the screen quit working on the Humminbird Fishin' Buddy and then I noticed the boat plastic is ripped at the bow tie. It wasn't like that before, so I'm not sure if it happened when we launched(shallow ramp and we pushed the boat off the trailer), or if it was from pulling the boat up on the trailer when leaving. Either way, it shouldn't have happened and we're not sure how to fix it. "Plastic welding" seems to be the way to go on polyethylene, but I don't think that's gonna hold at the bow tie.

I think we have all had that face, bracing for the hook set but not in the fish. I had about the same luck today. Just small fish

I'm surprised Moss isn't completely choked out with surface moss and weeds by now. Nice job getting out though!
