I was down the road at Midland Guns & Ammo today and was checking out a 9mm by SCCY Industries(pronounced "sky"), made in Daytona Beach. Seemed like a quality firearm with a transferable lifetime warranty and they're dirt cheap! Anyone have one or shot one before? I think I'll be picking one up when we get our tax return next spring. www.sccy.com/index.htmlA review...

They are very simular to a keltec 9mm. It is a good value. I never bought one because I already had a keltec. That double action pull it has is not the most enjoyable shoot in my opinion. It makes a great carry piece and the one I shot was very accurate. I also have one of those hi points and its heavy as a brick but for 160.00 that thing is a great value never failed me and alot of fun to shoot and very accurate. i love my glocks as i have 4 now . Anyway I dont think you could go wrong with that sccy. They do have a good following in shooter circles. And I am not sure that the guy that ownes the company did not have something to do with keltec in the past real simular guns.

You can get a carry permit when you are 18, but can't purchase a handgun until you are 21.

One time i was walking in the woods to this creek and my dad was sitting in the truck and a guy came out of the same woods and turned out he had just planted a few hundred plants in the woods

Good luck getting your hands on one. Been hitting up 3 different shops in Terre Haute, and none have been able to keep them in stock.

Where is Midland Guns & Ammo? I was never aware there was a gun shop in that neck of the woods. Downtown. It's at the corner of Main St and 1350W Rockie Cox Sr is the owner. I can't remember the hours, but Rockie said he's usually out there....even on evenings and Sundays.

My Angelo Zoli O/U came from Midland Guns and Ammo. Known Rockie a good while. Him and my mom used to work together at the post office. That right there should tell you it's a top notch gun shop with a former postal employee that owns it. Parents gave me a $100 gift certificate to his shop but I'm waiting on my tax check and hopefully some of the hysteria will die down by the time I try to place an order.

Was finally able to pick up one of the new Sccy CPX-2 9mm's at Wabash Valley Armory in Terre Haute. Great looking gun, but things didn't start off so great. Changed out the extended butt plate on the mag with the low profile (both came with gun), and the magazine wouldn't lock in. Tried both mags with both plates, and no go. Gave them a call and apparently they were aware of the problem. Took my address and said they'd get the modified butt plates out to me in the mail. Shot it for the first time yesterday. First few times I went to lock and load, the cartridge got stuck in between the magazine and the chamber. Finally figured out I was being too gentle with it. Once I got the hang of it, it was a blast to shoot. I'm pretty much a greenhorn with a handgun, but I was able to consistently put shots within a 6 inch circle at 15 yds. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the gun so far. I'll keep you all updated if my opinion changes.

A pic of Monty's new addition to his arsenal.... Thanks for the review! I tell ya, I've read a lot of gun reviews and it seems to be a repetitive deal of either new guns or new gun manufactures having issues that come up. Wouldn't you think they've put thousands of rounds through those guns to make sure there's no surprises? It must be something that comes up in the mass production process? Anyhow, thanks again for the review and I'll be very interested in how the company deals with the problem before buying one for myself.

Stopped in Saturday to check out Midland Guns & Ammo. I thought it was a pretty good shop for where he's at. Seems like it is the local hangout as there were a couple of fellers in there just chatting away while we were browsing. My f-i-l picked up some .54 caliber Power Belts for the muzzleloader and a pack of 209 Winchester primers.
